Supply of fertilizers begins to HP, says spokesman
Shimla, Feb 2 (UNI) The first consignment of fertilizers from Kandla in Gujarat to Himachal Pradesh has begin to provide adequate quantity to the farmers to increse their yield, a spokesman today claimed.
Following state Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal's request to Union Chemical and Fertilizers Minister Ram Vilas Paswan to provide 7,500 Metric Tonne of additional quality of fertilizer, the first consignment has already arrived, he said in a release here.
The spokesman said the fertilizers would be provided to the farmers at remunerative prices at their doorsteps to increase their yield.
The remaining supply would soon arrive from Kandla and other IFFCO plants to the state, he claimed.
Referring to widespread use of polythene in various parts of the state, he said the government would ensure that the ban on use of polythene was enforced.
He said deputy commissioners at district-level and director Science and Technology and Enviornment Department at the state-level would monitor that the ban was enforced effectively.
