Sub Inspector gets RI for graft
New Delhi, Feb 2 (UNI) A Delhi court sentenced Ashish Kumar Dubey, a Sub Inspector of the Delhi Police, to two-and-a-half years of rigorous imprisonment (RI) for accepting a bribe of Rs 8,000.
On August 19, 2002, Dubey was caught redhanded while accepting a bribe of Rs 8,000 from Mohammad Qayuum Quershi for not implicating him in the kidnapping of his maid servant.
Dubey, while being posted at Shalimar Bagh police station of North Delhi was investigating the case of the kidnapping of Qayuum's maid servant.
Special Judge, CBI, Vinod Goel found Dubey guilty under Section 7 and Section 13, r/w with Section 13(1d), of the Prevention of Corruption Act and also imposed a fine of Rs 25,000 on him.
