Chennai, Feb 2 (UNI) Officials of the Air Customs Intelligence arrested a man and seized four kg of Ketamine Hydrochloride powder, valued at Rs 40 lakh in the international market, from a Kuala Lumpur-bound passenger, early today.
Airport sources said the officials intercepted the passenger, Md Ismail Sultan (40), who was carrying a baby cot made of palmyra leaves, near the security area.
On inspection, they found one kg of ketamine powder packed in small packets and concealed in special cavities in each of the four legs of the cot.
The officials seized the powder and arrested him.
Ketamine Hydrochloride was banned from exporting without valid documents as it was widely used in parties and had great demand in countries like Malaysia.
