Nine Lankan refugees reach TN
Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu, Feb 2 (UNI) Nine Sri Lankan refugees from Vavuniya and Jaffna areas of the island nation reached the shores of Arichamunai in Ramanathapuram district of Tamil Nadu, yesterday.
Police sources said the refugees, who arrived in boats, were taken to the refugee camp at Mandapam by the Dhanushkodi police for interrogation.
The refugees said they were forced to flee from their homeland due to the intense fighting between the Sri Lankan Government and the banned LTTE. Besides, the Tigers were forcing the youth to join their outfit, they caimed.
