A company release here today said MBRs, imported from the US-based General Electricals, was ideally suited for recycling waste water in a residential township, having more than 100 units.
As water management would be one of the most debated environment challenges in future, MBR would be a boon to multi-storeyed apartments as it could operate at high concentrations in the range of 10,000 to 14,000 mg/litre, which was three to five times greater than conventional plants.
The reactors, costing Rs six to eight crore, was highly automated, making the operation less labour intensive and more consistent, it said. MBRs produced superior quality effluent by using a combination of low pressure ultrafiltration membranes and a suspended growth biological reactor, it said.
The company would soon launch feature-rich water purifiers with ozone technology, advanced and aesthetically appealing RO purifiers, water pumps, water level controllers and water heaters. All these products would be imported in completely knocked down form and assembled in its factory here, the release said.
