Justice Rajeev Gupta takes oath as Chhattisgarh Chief Justice
Raipur, Feb 2 (UNI) Chhattisgarh Governor E S L Narsimhan has administered the oath of office to Justice Rajeev Gupta as the Chief Justice of the state High Court today.
The oath-taking ceremony was held at the Raj Bhawan.
Chhattisgarh Assembly Speaker Prem Prakash Pandey, Chief Minister Raman Singh, former Union Minister Vidyacharan Shukla and senior police and administrative officials were among those on the occasion.
The seat of Chief Justice was vacant from several days. Senior Justice Jagdish Bhalla was discharging duties as acting Chief Justice. Justice Bhalla has been transferred as Chief Justice of Himachal Pradesh.
