Commissioner to hand over MHO to Government
Kakinada, Feb 2 (UNI) The Kakinada Corporation Commissioner A Siva Prasad today decided to hand over Municipal Health Officer (MHO) Purushottam to Andhra Pradesh Government.
The incident was sequel to the controversy over the abnormal delay in payment of wages, for six months, to the tune of Rs 1.70 lakh to the sanitary workers by the MHO.
A group of sanitary workers, along with a few Corporators, gheraoed the MHO in his chambers today demanding clearance of their Bills.
Based on a complaint, the police swung into action and settled the matter across the table.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner advised the MHO to submit the Bills.
But, as the MHO preferred to go on long leave rather than signing the controversial Bills, the Commissioner announced that he would send a report to the Government.
