UP faces intense cold, Sarsava at 0 degree
Lucknow, Feb 1 (UNI) Cold wave conditions continued to prevail in Uttar Pradesh with the mercury reaching to freezing point in Sarsava.
The state is facing nipping cold due to rains in the upper reaches of Uttarakhand.
'' UP is presently under the grip of intense cold. No respite is expected in the next two days,'' Met Department sources informed.
In the last 24 hours, night temperature fell appreciably in Gorakhpur division.
Varanasi, Faizabad, Kanpur and Jhansi divisions also recorded a dip in their night temperatures.
The lowest night temperature stood at zero degree Celsius in Sarsava, Saharanpur.
Agra recorded 3, Gorakhpur 3.5, Kanpur 5.4, Lucknow 6.5, Varanasi 6.6 and Allahabad 7.6 degrees Celsius.
The weatherman has forecast a dry weather for all divisions of the state in the next 24 hours.
