Panaji, Feb 1 (UNI) As Goa emerges as a world tourist destination Chief Minister Digamber Kamat today underlined the need to strengthen tourist infrastructure in the state to meet the requirements of growing amount of tourists.
Mr Kamat was speaking after policy Chairman of the city of London Michael Snyder joined CII to launch a 'Resource guide for Indian Public Private partnership (PPP) '' in south Goa.
He said PPP could play an important role in infrastructure Development for accountability and transperancy.
Government will consitute an advisory board, involving experts working in the field, to study the feasibility of the projects and implmentation of PPP.
Mr Michael Snyder said PPP brings with it the power to transform--Infrastructure, employment, properity, adding world class services and infrastructure.
He said Goa is a progressive state with a committed state government moving forward towards harnessing the power of PPP through projects such as Goa BroadBand Network.
Mr Synder said UK is a recognised world leader in PPP scoping and management, ''It has taken 10 years for us to reach this point and many lessons have been learnt along the way and we are looking forward to sharing this knowledge and experience with our colleagues in Goa and trust the Resource Guide, produced by the city of London, will be a valuable tool,'' he said.
Over the last eight years, UK has managed more than 800 PPP contracts with a capital value of 61 billion pounds, Mr Snyder added.
