Meanwhile, three persons have been arrested in this connection, Pali police station sources told UNI.

The 24 victims include three women. Twenty-eight others are still recuperating in two different hospitals. Sixteen of them have been admitted to the civil hospital at Alibaug, while the rest have been shifted to the J J Hospital here.

The incident occurred on January 30 when the inhabitants of Shardawadi village villagers consumed spurious liquor at a party held to celebrate a marriage proposal of a village boy. The revellers added a substance to the liquor for high intoxication and later complained of stomach pain. The affected people were rushed to the hospital but six of them died on January 30 itself.
