PCC takes up Jogaiah outbursts with party high command
Hyderabad, Feb 1 (UNI) Taking a serious view of Congress MP Hariram Jogaiah's strongly critical open letter to party president Sonia Gandhi, the Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee has sent a detailed report to the party High Command.
Talking to reporters here today, PCC acting President G S Rao denied the MP's charge that the Congress government in th state was steeped in corruption.
Refusing to divulge whether he had recommended Mr Jogaiah's expulsion from the party, he, however, said his outbursts amounted to ''indiscipline''. It was for the high command to take a decision on the issue, he added.
Replying to a question, Mr Rao said the party would not suffer in the event of actor Chiranjeevi floating a new party as claimed by Mr Jogaiah.
Despite earlier warnings, Mr Jogaiah was indulging in ''anti-party activities with an ulterior political motive'', he said, adding his action amounted to a person sitting on the branch of a tree cutting the very same branch.
The MP should realise that his utterances were only weakening the party which gave him the ticket and ensured his victory in the last elections, Mr Rao added.
