Chennai, Feb 1 (UNI) Delhi Jets trounced Kolkata Tigers by a comfortable five wicket margin hitting up the target of 300 losing half the side in the sixth match of the ICL 50s championship here today.
The Delhi Jets chase in 45.4 overs, was led Monish Mishra who hit up an unbeaten 118 off 119 ball with five sixes and J.P Yadav's 67. Abhinav Bali chipped in with 42 runs.
Earlier, batting first after winning the toss, Kolkata Tigers made 299 in 50 overs. Opener Parvez Aziz (93), Rohan Gavaskar 45, Anshu Jain 44 were the main scorers. For Delhi, Abhinav Bali took three wickets conceding just one run while Abbas Ali claimed two for 43.
The Kolkata Tigers innings got off to a great start as the openers Anshu Jain and Parviz Aziz put on 145 for the first wicket. Aziz scored a quick 93 off 88 balls with two sixes. Jain scored a patient 44 playing the perfect foil for Aziz. Both fell in the space of three balls, which slowed down Kolkata's innings.
