Kurukshetra Univ regional centre at Jind

Chandigarh, Feb 1 (UNI) A Post Graduate Regional Centre of Kurukshetra University will be set up over 75 acres of land at Jind.

While giving this information today Education Minister Mange Ram Gupta said that the foundation stone of the Centre would be laid by Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on February 3.

The centre would be constructed over an area of 75 acres.

He said that the State Government had made a provision of Rs 37.72 crore during the current financial year for Kurukshetra University so that the developmental work could be carried out in the University.

Mr Gupta said that a provision of Rs 12.50 crore had been made for the University to carry out construction and developmental works in the premises, besides Rs 25.22 crore had been earmarked under non plan budget.

The Education Minister said that Chief Minister would also lay the foundation stone of a bye pass at Jind which would help in easing the traffic in the town. With the construction of this bye-pass the longstandig demand of people of Jind could be fulfilled.

Mr Gupta said that an annual function of Nambardars would also be held on the same day which would be presided over by the Chief Minister. He said that the Chief Minister had provided an honourarium to the members of Panchayati Raj Institutions in recognisition their services.
