Int'l Fest of Films on Tribal Art and Culture in MP

Indore, Feb 1 (UNI) Actor-turned-political leader Shatrughan Sinha and former Bollywood star Randhir Kapoor will inaugurate a three-day International Festival of Films on Tribal Art and Culture (IFFTAC) at the local Gandhi Hall today.

Ethiopia Ambassador Gennet Zewide and her Botswana counterpart Porcas Anna Keosietsile would be guests of honour.

''The inauguration will take place at 1100 hrs. IFFTAC will showcase 69 films from 40 countries,'' Madhya Pradesh government undertaking Vanya's Managing Director Shriram Tiwari told reporters here today.

Producer-director Ramesh Talwar, actor Raghuveer Yadav, producers Nitin Mawani, S V Ramanathan, Pawan Kumar and director S Malik are expected, to be present at the inauguration, The Mumbai-based Indian Infotainment Media Corporation is a co-organiser, of IFFTAC.

The inauguration would be presided over by state Public Works and Information Technology Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya.

Special guests would include former union minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi and Union Secretary (Tribal Affairs) G B Mukherjee.

IFFTAC would include workshops on singing, music and screenplay and a seminar chaired by city-based Devi Ahilya University Vice-Chancellor Bhagirath Prasad.

The International Award, National Award, Tribal Filmmaker Award, MP Filmmaker Award and Student Award would be conferred.

Tribal painter Dileep Shyam would receive the Jangan Award 2007 while local Upendra Upadhyay would be honoured for topping the National Photography Competition 2007 on tribal life.
