Expelled SP MP Atiq Ahmed arrested

New Delhi, Feb 1: Expelled Samajwadi Party MP Atiq Ahmed, who had been on the run for nearly eight months, has been arrested from the Pitampura area of northwest Delhi.

Atiq was arrested at about 1600 hrs yesterday by the Special cell of the Delhi police, said a senior police officer. Atiq, whose seven sketches were recently released by the UP police in connection with the BSP MLA Raju Pal murder case, is an MP from Phulpur in Allahabad district of Uttar Pradesh. Atiq was expelled from the SP soon after the UP police had issued his sketches.
