CBI informs SC that probe in Haryana Teachers' scam complete
New Delhi, Feb 1 (UNI) The CBI today informed the Supreme Court that the investigation in the 1999 Haryana Teachers recruitment scandal in which former Harayana Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala was an accused, had been completed.
The CBI also informed a bench, comprising Justices Ashok Bhan and Dalveer Bhandari, that it had sought sanction from the government for prosecution of those against whom sufficient material had been collected during the investigation.
Another accused in the case is former Haryana minister Anand Singh Dangi.
The CBI also placed before the court its investigation report in a sealed cover.
Mr Chautala and some of its cabinet collegues are facing allegation of appointing thousands of teachers for illegal gratification running into several crores of rupees without conducting any interview and bypassing all rules and regulations.
