Smuggled poultry vaccine seized in Siliguri
Siliguri, Jan 31 (UNI) Poultry vaccine, worth Rs 20 lakhs, was seized by sleuths of Directorate of Revenue Intellegence, while being smuggled in from Kathmandu, here last night.
Two persons have been arrested in this connection. Police have identified one of them to be a resident of Kathmandu, while the other one hails from Siliguri Police sources today said that cash and other documents, worth Rs 10 lakhs, were also seized later when the hotel, they were staying in, was raided by the sleuths.
The arrested duo had been taken to appear before a local court today, where their bail plea was rejected.
Police said the vaccines were being smuggled in from Kathmandu to be sold in black markets in this town.
