Police destroys large quantity of drugs

Moga, Jan 31 (UNI) A large quantity of drugs, including 32.24 quintals of poppy husk, 98 grams smack, 675 grams charas and medicines seized by the Moga and Ferozepur districts police were destroyed here today.

The drugs were destroyed in the presence of Ferozepur range DIG Ishwar Chander, Ferozepur SSP Dinesh Partap Singh and Moga SSP Ashok Bath.

The destruction of drugs was done as per the directions of the Punjab and Haryana High Court.

Stating this here today, Mr Ishwar Chander said the seizure and destruction of the drugs were the result of 18 cases of poppy husk, seven cases of smack, one case of charas and six cases of tablets and injections registered in both Moga and Ferozepur districts.
