Mumbai, Jan 31 (UNI) ING Group today welcomed the launch of the 2008 ING Renault F1 car, the R28, and the new driver line-up of double world champion -- Fernando Alonso and Nelson Piquet Jr.
2008 marks ING's second year as title sponsor of the ING Renault Formula 1 Team. Reinforcing its position as one of the leading sponsors active in Formula 1, ING will also have on-track branding at 13 of the 18 Grand Prix races, including title sponsorship of the ING Australian, ING Belgian and ING Hungarian Grand Prix, a release issued here today stated.
ING Group head of marketing Isabelle Conner said, ''This is year two of our three-year investment in Formula 1. 2007 was about building our brand profile and exceeded all our expectations. This year, we're focused on encouraging ING around the world to use F1 as a platform for building business. We had a great experience with Renault F1 in our first year and look forward to doing more in 2008.'' Independent research amongst 16,000 people in 32 countries showed, that during 2007, Formula 1 improved ING's global brand awareness, and increased willingness amongst potential customers to do business with ING, the release added.
