Kathmandu, Jan 31: Nepal Police has arrested Dhirendra Yadav, the most wanted criminal in the Indian state of Bihar, from Sunsari district, police sources said.

Yadav was allegedly involved in creating terror among local businessmen with frequent kidnappings, threats and extortions in border districts of eastern Nepal.

Police also suspect his hand in the murder of Bikram Prasad Sah, chief of Rajbiraj branch of Agriculture Development Bank in Saptari district and robbing him of Rs 30 lakhs on January 22.

Acting on a tip-off by the Indian Police, officers of eastern regional office of Nepal Police nabbed him a few days ago, Kantipur reported.

Superintendent of Police Bikram Singh Thapa said India had already asked for Yadav to be extradited. ''But we are trying to arrest over a dozen of his accomplices,'' he said.

Yadav, an Indian national, had received Nepalese citizenship certificate a year ago.
