Himachal boy Digvijay makes cold all rivals in Sunfest

Kolkata, Jan 31 (UNI) Top seed in both Boys' Singles event, Himachal Pradesh's Digvijay Singh Mehta reached the semis of both events besides reaching the final of the Boys' Doubles Under-16 at the Sunfeast Junior Tennis Super series at Calcutta South Club today.

Digvijay defeated eighth seed Abhishek Alla of Andhra Pradesh 6-0,6-0 in the Under-14 quarters and ousted seventh seed Sirasala Surya of AP 6-3,6-0 in the U-6 quarters.

In the Doubles U-16 semis, partnering Tamil Nadu's R Ramkumar, he trounced third seeded Assam pair of Suraj Konwar and Rupam Gogoi 4-2,4-0.

In the Girls' section, Maharashtra's Prarthana Thombare also reached the semis of the Singles U-14 and Singles U-16 and finals of Doubles U-16.

S V Abhishek of Andhra Pradesh also reached the semis of the Boys' Singles U-16 and finals of Boys' Doubles U-16.

Ankita Raina of Gujarat reached the semis of Girls' Singles U-16 and finals of Girls' Doubles U-16.
