Glaxo extends global portfolio to India
New Delhi, Jan 31 (UNI) GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare (GSKCH) today said it plans to introduce in the country some brands from its global portfolios over the next three years to further consolidate its position in the health and nutrition segment.
''We will bring in brands like Sensodyne, Ribena and Lucozade in the next two-three years,'' company Managing Director Zubair Ahmed told reporters here.
The company will bring in brands like Lucozade (energy drink), Breathe Right (nasal strip and snore relief product) and Ribena (Vitamin C-based drink), but are subject to regulatory approval, he added.
Mr Ahmed said that given the high import duties, the company will also conduct stability tests and look to maufacture the product here.
The firm has three manufacturing units in the country.
GSKCH today announced its foray into the speciality nutrition category with its brand 'Glaxo Nutrition'.
