Gangubai Hangal to be honoured with hon. doctorate by KOSU

Mysore, Jan 31 (UNI) Legendary Hindustani musician Gangubai Hangal is among three others would be conferred with honorary doctorate degrees at the 8th annual convocation of Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) to be held here on February eight here.

Speaking to newsmen KSOU Vice Chancellor Prof A Vivek Rai said that the other persons are former Vice Chancellor of Goa and Mangalore Universities B Sheik Ali, science writer Prof G T Narayana Rao and writer Ko. Chennabasappa.

Chairman of distance education programme of Indira Gandhi Open University Prof V N Rajashekaran Pillai would deliver the convocation address.

Fifteen toppers would receive gold medals, he added.
