Ferrous metals steady on moderate demand
Mumbai, Jan 31 (UNI) Ferrous metals remained steady on moderate demand in Kolkata and Delhi today, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange (BME) said.
In the non-ferrous metal category, copper wire bar fell by Rs 100 per quintal due to lack of demand, while aluminium ingot advanced by Rs 100 per quintal amid reduced stock supply.
Zinc slab and lead ingot remained unchanged on moderate demand.
Tin slab also shot up by Rs 4 per kg on good demand from retailers, while nickel cathode declined by Rs 5 per kg amid thin buying support, Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: copper heavy - Rs 33,700, copper utensils - Rs 31,600, brass utensils - Rs 24,800, brass cuttings - Rs 25,400 and aluminium utensils - Rs 10,500 per kg.
Non-ferrous metals: copper wire bars - Rs 36,900, aluminium ingots - Rs 12,100, zinc slab - Rs 12,300, lead ingots - Rs 11,500, tin slab - Rs 789 and nickel cathode - Rs 1,380 per kg.
