CRPF recover arms and ammunition in Srinagar
Srinagar, Jan 31 (UNI) The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) today busted a hideout and recovered huge cache of arms and ammunition in the city.
A CRPF spokesman P Tripathy said a search operation was conducted by 96 batallion, CRPF, along with the police at Ganaidoori Mohalla under police station Zadibal, Srinagar, following a tip off that militants had dumped arms and ammunition there.
Ms Geeta Yadav and Surinder Singh both Assistant Commandants along with two platoons of the CRPF and Civil Police, cordoned the area.
During the search of a particular house belonging to the Ali Mohammad Malik, one AK rifle with a loaded magazine, wrapped in cloths and hidden in the false ceiling of the roof of a room were recovered.
Security forces also recovered one Chinese Pistol, 4 magazines and 35 live rounds of the pistol.
He said one person was taken into custody in this connection for questioning.
