Chittaranjan, Diesel Locomotives, RCF exceed targets

New Delhi, Jan 31 (UNI) Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW), Diesel Locomotive Works (DLW) and Rail Coach Factory (RCF) have exceeded their targets for this year.

The CLW produced 134 electric locomotives against the target of 132 electric locomotives and DLW produced 170 diesel locomotives against the target of 163 while Rail Coach Factory (RCF) turned out 1053 coaches against the target of 1044.

The Rail Wheel Factory (RWF) has also produced more wheels than targeted. It turned out 101507 wheels and 33949 axles against the target of 95203 wheels and 34049 axles during April - December 2007 whereas the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) produced 906 coaches against the target of 912 coaches during the same period, an official release said here.

The punctuality percentage of mail/express trains was 90.8 per cent in Broad Gauge and 99.1 per cent in Metre Gauge during the month of December 2007 compared to 88.8 per cent and 99.5 per cent respectively during the same period last year.

Railways have realized an amount of Rs. 21 crore approximately during December, 2007 through ticket checking, the release said.
