Raipur, Jan 31 (UNI) Children in Chhattisgarh's faraway regions will now be schooled via the Indian Space Research Organisation's satellite EDUSAT.
Chief Minister Raman Singh inaugurated the Chhattisgarh EDUSAT Network today at the State Educational Research Council's local studio and spoke with kids and their teachers in Dongergaon, Janjgir, Kawardha and Dongargarh.
''A challenging responsibility is to bring school dropouts back into the educational mainstream,'' he said.
Providing the example of the father of India's Intermediate Range Ballistic Missile programme and former president A P J Abdul Kalam, Dr Singh said that even a person who studied in an ordinary government school could bring glory to the country, his home, family and society by reaching the nation's highest post through honesty, dedication and toil.
In the initial phase 50 satellite interactive terminal centres, equipped with video-conferencing facilities, are being set up and would aid in training teachers as well.
