Puducherry, Jan 31 (UNI) The Puducherry unit of the AIADMK today urged the Centre to dismiss the Congress Government in the Union Territory and pave way for fresh elections as Chief Minister N Rangasamy has ''lost'' the support of his Cabinet colleagues.
In a resolution adopted at the party office bearers meeting to discuss the 60th birthday celebrations of party supremo J Jayalalithaa here, the party exhorted the cadres to be prepared for the elections.
Alleging that the five ministers were trying to stall the setting up of the Government Medical College in support of private medical colleges here, a resolution urged the administration to take immediate steps to start the Government medical college in the coming academic year.
In another resolution, the party urged the administration to abolish entrance examinations for admission to professional courses.
Resolutions urging the administration to initiate action against those supporting banned outfits, allotment of development schemes for the Karaikal region, bringing down the price of construction materials and laying a railway line beteen Tindivanam and Cuddalore via Puducherry were also adopted.
Speaking on the occasion, party State Secretary A Anbazhagan claimed that the Congress Government would collapse in another six months due to intra-party feuds and called upon the party cadres to be ready to face elections.
Former Tamil Nadu Ministers Madhusudanan and Thalavai Sundaram took part in the meeting, which decided to celebrate the birthday of Ms Jayalalithaa in a fitting manner.
