3 surrender in varsity employee's murder case
Cuddalore, Tamil Nadu, Jan 31 (UNI) Three people today surrendered before a local court in connection with murder of an employee of the Annamalai University.
Police said K Natarajan (45) of Perumathur Village, S Manikandan (27) of Sathakudi Village and R Raja (25) of Paramedu, all near Chidambaram, surrendered before the Judicial Magistrate II, who remanded them in judicial custody till February eight.
R Sivasamy (38), an assistant in the office of the Vice-Chancellor of the university, was murdered on the campus at Chidambaram, near here, yesterday.
According to police sources, Sivasamy was riding a motorcycle to the office when some people waylaid and attacked him with sharp weapons, close to the Vice-Chancellor's residence on the campus. He suffered cut injuries on the hand and neck.
Sivasamy was taken to Rajah Muthiah Medical College Hospital where he was declared brought dead. The body was later taken to the Chidambaram Government Hospital for post-mortem.
