Hazaribagh, Jan 30 (UNI) Expecting mid-term polls in Jharkhand in the next six months, Union Minister of State for Food Processing Subodh Kant Sahay today said UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi had already been apprised of the status of the UPA-backed government in the state.
Talking to reporters here, Mr Sahay said the condition in the state was miserable as the developmental projects had come to a halt under the regime of the Koda government.
''A report in this regard has been sent to Ms Gandhi and any decision over continuing the party's support to the Koda government will be taken after the February four Simari bypoll,'' Mr Sahay said.
''All the allies of the UPA will also be consulted before taking any strong step after the by-election,'' Mr Sahay added.
Referring to Simaria bypoll, he said it was the beginning of a new political trend according to which the political parties despite having alliance at national level were contesting separataly in the states.
He said the political situation was also indicative of mid-term polls in the state in the next six months.
