Gurgaon, Jan 30 (UNI) A local court today issued arrest warrant against the kidney racket kingpin Dr Amit Kumar and his brother Dr Jeewan, while booking and sending to seven-day police remand the kingpin's sister-in-law Puja and his driver Amit on charges of criminal conspiracy.
Joint Commissioner of Police Manjit Singh Ahlawat told mediapersons that Puja, wife of Dr Jeewan(Dr Amit Kumar's brother) and driver Amit, who were arrested yesterday by the Gurgaon police, were booked under section 120 B in the court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate Surya Pratap Singh.
A production warrant was issued against Dr Upendra Vaidya and two others, who were taken into custody by Moradabad Police, JCP Ahlawat said.
The network of the kidney transplant racket, which was busted recently by the Moradabad Police, was spread over as many as 48 countries which includes the US, Russia, Canada and Greece.
Several Delhi hospitals, dialysis centres and medical institutes were also under scanner for their possible complicity in the case.
