Religious places to get additional FSI of 0.5
Mumbai, Jan 30 (UNI) The Improvement Committee of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) today passed a proposal to grant an additional floor space index (FSI) of 0.5 to all religious places in the city that are registered with the Charity Commissioner of Mumbai.
The Maharashtra government had sent a recommendation to the BMC's Improvement committee to grant the additional FSI to all the religious places that have an area of more than 500 sq mtrs.
Congress corporator and Committee member Upendra Doshi suggested that the FSI of all the religious places would benefit from the proposal, as only a small percentage of the existing religious places were above 500 sq mtrs in area.
After a lot of discussion amongst the members, the proposal was cleared and has been sent to the BMC House for approval. It will be sent to the state government for the final clearance.
