NC MLAs stall Assembly proceedings
Jammu, Jan 30 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly witnessed three adjournments in the first half today as the National Conference (NC) legislators created ruckus in the House.
The NC lawmakers came to the House with ''corruption'' as the main agenda against the Congress-PDP coalition government and demanded the dismissal of ''tainted ministers''.
Just after seven minutes of commencement of proceedings, the House witnessed first adjournment at 1007 hrs.
The House, which started its proceedings again at 1131 hrs witnessed another adjournment at 1135 hrs. However, Finance Minister Tariq Hameed Karra managed to get passed some grants in this four-minutes-long ''under protest'' proceedings.
Third adjournment till 1530 hrs was announced just five minutes after the proceeding started again at 1234 hrs. This time it was made on the request of Deputy Chief Minister M H Beig to Speaker Tara Chand.
In all, only 16 minutes proceedings could be recorded in 210-minute-long first-half in the Assembly.
