Davanagere, Jan 30(UNI) A six-member investigation team from Gujarat arrived here today to grill Raziuddin alias Mohammad Ghouse, who was arrested by district police for having alleged links with the banned SIMI, in connection with the Haren Pandya murder case.
The police sources while confirming the arrival of Gujarat Police, said that the father of the detained Mohammed Nazaruddin was in Tihar jail as one of the accused in the Pandya Murder case.
Meanwhile, the police team which arrived from Andhra Pradesh and Raziuddin, for his alleged link with Mecca Masjid blasts at Hyderabad returned with 'specific clues' that could lead to identify the culprits involved in the conspiracy.
Police would seek court's permission for extension of police custody of the arrested which expires on February one, the sources said.
Meanwhile the CDs and pen drives seized from Asadulla, who was arrested along with Raziuddin in Honnali on January 11, had not revealed any significant information. However, it was confirmed during the interrogation that Raziuddin had underwent training in Pakistan, sources said.
Police were likely to subject both the arrested to brain-mapping and narco-analysis test.
Advisor to Karnataka Governor P K H Tharakan, had told the press in Gulbarga yesterday that preliminary investigations had suggested Raziuddin's links with a terror outfit.
However Karnataka Additional Director General of Police Shankar Bidiri said in this town yesterday that the possible terror links of the arrested was yet to be ascertained.
