Ferozabad, Jan 30 (UNI) Inveighing the ruling Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) regime in Uttar Pradesh, Samajwadi Party (SP) supremo and former UP chief minister Mulayam Singh Yadav today alleged that goons and mafia were ruling the state creating a law and order problem.
''CM Mayawati is working with malice...she has got nothing to do with development of the state and is only busy trapping SP leaders in fake cases,'' Mr Yadav said after attending a condolence meeting here.
''Each and every vow of Mayawati during poll campaigning has fallen like a pack of cards. UP has become a den of history-sheeters. Besides, farmers and poors were also being harried to the utmost,'' the former defence minister charged.
The SP leader further expressed heartfelt sympathy for family of two persons killed during a recent spat between two groups.
He announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh each to kin of the deceased from the party fund.
Holding police responsible for the incident, the former CM demanded registeration of cases against the erring policemen.
On January 13, Karamveer Singh Yadav was killed following a dispute between two groups at village Jeda in Eka area.
Irked over the incident, a mob gheroed a police station and set it ablaze.
Meantime, a youth was killed in stone peilting and firing.
