Shimla, Jan 30 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Public Works Department (PWD) Minister Gulab Singh today said the BJP Government was committed to the welfare of the people of the state.
The government is committed to the welfare of the people and had already taken a number of decisions within a month after coming to power in the state, he said in a release here on completion of the BJP government's first month in office.
''Soon after the BJP emerged victorious, the state government had enhanced the wages from Rs 75 to Rs 100, and accordingly social security pension for the aged, handicapped and widows had been increased from Rs 200 to Rs 300,'' he added.
Mr Thakur said a comprehensive plan had been prepared to connect all villages by roads and Rs 1,023 crore would be spend on the construction of 2190 km of new roads during the current year.
