Secretary of the Nurses Association of Manipur N Memchoubi said here today that the nurses were not paid allowances as provided to other state or central government hospitals.
''The nurses have been demanding hike in allowances from April, 1999. However, their demands have not yet been met.'' She also alleged that the nurses were getting low salaries.
About 1,150 member nurses of the association work in different state hospitals.
''If the state government does not heed our demands, we will start the stir from February four,'' the secretary added.
