Headmaster suspended for disrespecting National Flag
Kendrapada, Jan 29 (UNI) A school headmaster was suspended for showing dishonour to the national flag at Patkura in the district.
Sources said Jagannathpur Upper Primary School headmaster Akhaya Kumar Rout had unfurled the tri colour in his school premises on the 59th Republic Day, but the flag was not downed before the sunset.
On receipt of the allegation from the school inspector, the Patkura police rushed to the school but were prevented by the school authorities to down the flag.
The matter was later brought to the notice of district inspector of school Kasinath Barik by the school inspector Sarat Malla, who reported that the headmaster should be taken to task for showing dishonour to the national flag.
When contacted the school headmaster said he had asked assistant teacher Patitapaban Mishra to down the flag before sunset as he was entrusted to join in a two-day-long training, organised by the Sarva Sikhya Abijan.
The district inspector of school, who had ordered an inquiry into the incident, suspended the Headmaster yesterday, who was found guilty in the inquiry.
