Bhubaneswar, Jan 29 (UNI) Orissa Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today directed all district Collectors to dispose of allegations of issuance of false caste certificate within two months and take disciplinary action against the guilty.

The Chief Minister gave the direction after presiding over a high level meeting, convened here in the wake of the allegations that some people were taking the benefits, meant for SC and ST people by producing false caste certificates.

The government took the allegations seriously after the recent Kandhamal communal clash.

A delegation of the Kui Samaj, led by its leader Lambodar Kuanar, alleged that some of the members of the Pana community had got government jobs by producing false caste certificates and demanded the Chief Minister to take action against the guilty.

Mr Patnaik also directed the Collectors to dispose of all allegations of false caste certificate cases pending with the district administration by March 31, 2008 and take stern action against the guilty.

So far eleven people had been arrested, disciplinary proceedings initiated against six employees and five employees placed under suspension in connection with the issuance of false caste certificates, official sources here said.
