AP cops rush to Karnataka to interrogate blast suspect
Hyderabad, Jan 29 (UNI) A four-member special police team from Andhra Pradesh today started interrogating a Hyderabad native, suspected to be involved in the recent terror attacks here, at Davanagere in Karnataka.
The special team, led by a Circle Inspector (CI), which left last night for Davanagere, was interrogating Ziyazuddin Nasir, who was arrested along with his associate Asadullah Abubaka of Karnataka by Honalli police on vehicle theft charges recently, city police Commissioner B Prasad Rao told UNI.
He said the team was interrogating Ziyazuddin to ascertain if he was involved in the recent terror strikes in the city.
Ziyazuddin is the son of Moulana Naseeruddin, who was arrested by the Gujarat police in Hyderabad five years ago in connection with the murder of former Gujarat Home Minister Haren Pandya.
The Commissioner said ''we can come to a conclusion on Ziyazuddin's involvement in the May 18, Mecca Masjid blasts and August 25, twin blasts which claimed more than 50 lives and injured over 100 people, only after interrogation.
