Advisor says arrested man had links with terrorists
Gulbarga, Karnataka, Jan 29 (UNI) Advisor Karnataka Governor P K H Tharakan today disclosed that one of the two men arrested in Honalli in Davanagere District of Karnataka last week, had links with terrorists.
Addressing the media here, Mr Tharakan said preliminary investigation showed Riyazuddin alias Mohamed Ghouse, who was arrested along with his accomplice Asadullah, had links with terrorists.
Lauding the efforts of police in nabbing the militants, Mr Tharakan announced a reward of Rs 50,000 to the two constables who led the arrest.
Earlier, participating in a review meeting in which top officials of the district were present, the Advisor said he was aware of the problems of the district and would make efforts to solve them.
He claimed the law and order situation in the state had improved.
''In fact the image of police has improved in the state,'' he added.
