The sculptor, Sunil Kandalloor from Alappuzha, Kerala, has made wax figures of 12 well-known personalities specifically for Dubai and is now showcasing them for shoppers at the popular haunt. From international luminaries like Mahatma Gandhi, Mother Teresa and Indira Gandhi to Hollywood biggie Jackie Chan, Bollywood stars Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan to Malayalam actors like Sreenivasan and Mohan Lal, the artist has them all. He is now hoping to create a wax replica of Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

''I want to do a wax sculpture of Shaikh Mohammed and have already written to his office. I hope I get the green signal to make his sculpture,'' Kandalloor said. Kandalloor, 35, who claims to be the only wax sculptor in India, already runs a wax museum in Tamil Nadu and is keen on starting a similar one in Dubai. ''I want to start a wax museum in the Arab world and that is one of the main reasons for displaying these wax figures here at the Global Village,'' he added. Former Pakistan prime minister Benazir Bhutto's image will soon be added to his collection in Dubai.
