Two sentenced to 10 yrs RI for raping, impregnating a minor

New Delhi, Jan 28 (UNI) A city court today sentenced two persons to 10 years rigorous imprisonment for raping a minor girl.

Additional Sessions Judge Pratibha Rani found Harun and his nephew Inaam guilty of raping 15 years old girl who was employed at their house in Timarpur area of North Delhi.

The incident came to light when a lady relative of the girl visited her house and found her to be pregnant. Earlier the girl was living alone with her father.

It was alleged in the complaint that first Inaam used to rape her.

When the matter came to the knowledge of his uncle, he also started to raping her.

An FIR was registered with Timarpur police station on August 31, 2006.

After the registration of the case, the girl was sent to the hospital for an abortion but the doctor refused, citing the reason that the pregnancy was in an advanced stage. During the trial, the victim gave birth to a girl child.

The court found the duo guilty of threatening and criminalintimidation of the victim and imposed an additional sentence of two years for the same.

The court also imposed a fine of Rs 15,000 on both the convicts.
