Minor girl commits suicide in AP village

Adilabad (Andhra Pradesh), Jan 28: Unable to bear the harassment by a youth, a 15-year-old girl allegedly committed suicide by setting herelf ablaze at Baba Sagar village in this district yesterday.

Police said J Soundarya, a ninth standard student, reportedly doused herself with kerosene and set herself afire at her house. Her parents immediately admitted her to the Sirpur hosptial, where she later succumbed to her burns.

The parents of the girl have lodged a police complaint that a degree student, R Mahendar, of the same village, had been allegedly harrassing their daughter since last year.

Based on the complaint, police has registered a case under section 306 of ipc and search was on to nab him.
