Mumbai, Jan 28 (UNI) Twenty three subdivisions of Mahavitaran, the state government-run power distribution company, were given computers as awards, while Kothrud division in Pune zone was presented a laptop for successful implementation of a novel scheme of photo meter reading here over the weekend.
Mahavitaran Managing Director Dr A B Pandey handed over the certificates and awards to the subdivisions, a press release issued here today said.
The subdivisions that implemented 100 per cent photo meter reading scheme are Sarvodaya, Vashi and Uran in Bhandup Zone, Roha, Dombivali (W)-I, Vasai and CSD Kalyan subdivisions in Kalyan Zone, East zone subdivision and North zone subdivisions in Kolhapur Zone and Narkhed, MIDC-I and II subdivisions in Nagpur Urban Zone.
The subdivisions that implemented more than 95 per cent photo meter reading scheme include Market Yard, Mandai, Kasaba, Deccan, Kothrud, Warje and Chinchwad in Pune Zone and Ratnagiri Urban subdivision in Ratnagiri Zone.
Chandrapur-I and II subdivisions in Nagpur Zone implemented 100 per cent photo meter reading, while Wardha subdivision implemented the photo meter reading scheme by more than 95 per cent.
Photo meter reading scheme is being implemented for the first time in the country by Mahavitaran in the state with an aim to reduce consumer complaints regarding billing and manipulation of meter reading, Director (Operations) Vijay Sonavane informed and added that Mahavitaran has applied for patent rights for this novel scheme.
