Mumbai, Jan 28: Larsen&Toubro (L&T) has posted a profit after tax of Rs 48.17 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2007 as compared to Rs 34.39 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2006.
The total income has increased from Rs 422.44 crore to Rs 648.35 crore, a release stated. After the results were announced, the equity was quoted at Rs 3,710, down by Rs 182.65 or 4.69 per cent, on the bources. It has touched an intra-day high of Rs 3,840 and an intra-day low of Rs 3,636.
It was trading with volumes of 7,320 shares till noon. On Friday, the share closed up by 10.30 per cent or Rs 363.40 at Rs 3,892.65, brokers said.
