Haryana Boards, Corporations asked to fill vacant seats
Chandigarh, Jan 28 (UNI) The Haryana Industrial Training and Vocational Education Department has issued notice to the employers of private, Government and Public Sector units, including Boards, Corporations and Municipalities to engage apprentices to their required capacity against vacant assessed seats available with them by April 15.
While stating this here today, the State Apprenticeship Advisor-cum-Director of the department, Mr Ankur Gupta said the employers practicing business in the occupations concerning various designated trades under Apprentice Act, 1961 were under statutory obligations to engage apprentices as prescribed ratio to workers other than unskilled, prescribed under the rules.
He said as per the instructions which would be followed for admission, the duration of training for trade apprentices varies from six months to four years depending upon the trade. Rebate in the institutional training period was provided to the trainees who had obtained National Trade Certificate or State Trade Certificate in corresponding trades under the Craftsmen Training Scheme as per Ministry of Labour and Employment notification.
Mr Gupta said the candidates eligible to undergo apprenticeship training should be minimum 14 years of age and satisfy the standards of education and fitness as prescribed under the rules.
