Capital shivers for second week, mercury down to 2.3 deg C
New Delhi, Jan 28 (UNI) Icy cold winds continued to keep Delhiites shivering for the second consecutive week with the mercury today plummeting to 2.3 degrees Celsius, six degrees below normal.
Cold northwesterly winds gave a biting edge to the winds blowing throughout the day, and the sun also remained sheathed in clouds most of the time. Slight mist was also witnessed in the morning though visibility levels remained normal at 1500m.
The maximun temperature was 16.4, six degrees below normal.
The coming days could witness an intensification of the chill with the weathermen forecasting a drop in minimum temperature tomorrow to 2 degrees Celsius.
They have also forecast that northwesterly winds could continue blowing for the next few days.
The met office has forecast a partly cloudy sky in Delhi during the next 24 hours.
