Bangalore, Jan 28 (UNI) Public-sector Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) today unveiled six value-added services for its mobile customers.
Speaking to newspersons here after the launch, BSNL Chief General Manager (Karnataka circle) T S Kuppuswamy said the Resource Tracking Management System (RTMS) service was a real time tracking to monitor and communicate with field employees and work force having mobile phone.
It was designed to manage and track their resources over the internet and useful for transport, logistics and corporate employees work force management. A control centre with internet connectivity would help to locate the required vehicle at any point of time, he explained.
Added advantage of RTMS was that control centres not having internet facility could also track the movement of the vehicles by sending SMS (short messaging service), he added.
He said another value-added was People Finder Service to locate, monitor and communicate with their children. It could be handled by kids, teenagers and youngsters and more importantly, parents could monitor their children.
He said the Instant Messaging Service provided functionality for sending and receiving instant messages through GPRS to subscribers of BSNL. Another new service was Mobile TV, which could be accessed by subscribers who had GPRS enabled mobile phones for both post paid and pre-paid customers.
BSNL Karnataka offered free Premium Ring Back Tone to its esteemed customers, he informed.
Replying to queries, he said broadband connections in Karnataka circle had crossed two lakh during last week. Over 700 additional locations in Karnataka had been extended with broadband facility, including 330 in Bangalore and 350 in rest of the state.
During the next two months 100 more locations in Bangalore and 200 in rest of the state would be provided with broadband facility, he added.
