AP: BC leader withdraws fast-unto-death protest

announced
withdrawal
of
his
fast-unto-death
protest
following
a
meeting
with
the
BC
ministerial
committee.
Speaking to the press here, Mr Krishnaiah claimed the government had accepted the demands, including re-imbursement of fees for students of backward class studying professional courses and construction of 300 Welfare Hostels for girls belonging to the classes in the state.
State Agriculture Minister N Raghuveera Reddy said the government would fill the backlog posts of the BC Community by issuing a notification at the earliest. The allocation for the welfare of the community would also be increased in the next Budget.
